We’ve all seen those amazing films and Disney ornaments of the Disney princesses in their gorgeous gowns. Belle has her famous golden yellow frock when dancing with the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella opts for a floor length silvery blue dress for the Royal ball. These are the types of images we conjure in our minds when we picture ourselves at a grand event; and prom is a great opportunity to live out these fantasies.
You can achieve the Disney princess look with a range of budgets; how much you spend is up to you. Although, if you are doing it on the cheap, you may need to find a couple of talented friends who can work wonders with makeup and hair! Read on to find out how to get the right look for your special prom date.
The hair
Starting from the top, your hair style is up to you but it is best to keep it sleek and silky. This means a good conditioner is needed in order to keep it frizz-free. Whether you opt for a “Jasmine” look – with full bodied hair put into a loose ponytail with a decorative headpiece – or a “Cinderella” style with your hair elegantly gathered into a bun, you are sure to look super gorgeous.
The make-up
The Disney princesses are lucky in the fact that they are animated, as they do not appear to have any flaws. As we are humans in the flesh, we don’t exactly have this privilege. Therefore the look to copy for your makeup is a combination of peach and roses; delicate looking skin with natural looking rosy cheeks and complexion. Face powder, blusher, and skin highlighters are key products, but don’t go overboard!
The dress
Now we reach the main event, the dress. While Snow White has a pretty dress, it isn’t exactly “prom-tastic”. The dresses of Cinderella, Belle, or Sleeping Beauty are good targets to go for. If you can’t afford to have someone make you a reproduction gown, visit your local shops and charity shops to see if you can find something that closely resembles it. You might be able to rope in a friend or family member to make some alterations so it looks as though it was made only for you.
All the rest
Once you’ve sorted out your hair, makeup, and dress, you can put some thought into how you are going to coordinate it all together. The easiest way to do this is with classic silver jewellery and shimmery detroit tigers sweatshirt . If you go for a pink gown, try to stay away from pink makeup and accessories as it can look a bit too much. Mixing silver and white with your dress is a timeless combination, and one that is sure to make you the belle of the ball.
